Diana Savani, RD, LDN

 

Welcome to 'Eating with a Dietitian', the nutrition-focused website and blog by me, Diana Savani, Registered and Licensed Dietitian. I am a Massachusetts-based dietitian with a passion for living a healthy and happy life, and helping others to do the same in a way that works for them. My goal is to share science-based nutrition information, healthy recipe ideas, and delicious food finds on various social media platforms to encourage healthy lifestyle changes and long-term healthy habits. I currently work in multiple roles in the nutrition field and have a background in clinical & community nutrition, giving me a wide array of skills and knowledge to help you live a healthy lifestyle in a way that makes sense for you.

 

One of my roles is to teach weekly wellness classes in a group setting to 11 to 18 year old participants, as part of the Center of Youth Wellness program at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. These classes focus on emphasizing how a balanced lifestyle, with a focus on nutrition and physical activity, can lead to improved health and self-confidence. I also offer free nutrition education within Hannaford supermarkets in Massachusetts in the form of recipe demonstrations, classes, store tours, and community events, as part of a Registered Dietitian program supported by carefully selected food sponsors.

Last, but most definitely not least, I spend a lot of time experimenting in the kitchen and learning about new foods and products available to consumers so that I can come up with creative, delicious recipes and nutrition education materials to help those around me live a healthier lifestyle. I became a dietitian for two reasons - 1) I want to help people. 2) I LOVE FOOD. I have found through my own experiences that healthy food can taste amazing,

and I can prove it!

A healthy diet can be made up of a variety of foods, from all food groups. I like to think of food as a natural preventative medicine for the human body. Not only can a balanced diet full of nutrient-dense foods provide the body with the fuel and care it needs to stay healthy long-term, but it also makes life so enjoyable too. Food has so much history, culture, tradition, and creativity behind it, which should all be celebrated, which is why I love to indulge occasionally and enjoy learning about all of the delicious bites out there!

 

I invite you to join me on the journey toward a long-term healthy lifestyle, made up of a balanced diet full of delicious, nutritious, and realistic foods. The recipes and nutrition tips provided by "Eating with a Dietitian" are created with you in mind, understanding that many people need nutritious meals and snacks that are easy to create, inexpensive, and delicious enough that the whole family will love them!
